Tripura portfolio allocation: Animesh gets Science & Tech, Forest & Environ, Brishaketu is MoS Commerce & Ind

Eight days after being sworn in as ministers in the Manik Saha-led BJP government in Tripura, Tipra Motha leaders Animesh Debbarma and Brishaketu Debbarma were assigned their portfolios.

Animesh Debbarma, former Leader of Opposition in the Tripura Assembly has been made the Cabinet Minister for Forest, General Administration (Printing and Stationery), and Science, Technology, and Environment and
Industries and Brishaketu Debbarma is Minister of State for Commerce and Industry.

The departments allocated to Animesh Debbarma was till now with the Chief Minister himself, Cabinet minister Santana Chakma was the minister for Industries and Commerce Department.

The two TMP ministers officially assumed office on March 7, marking a significant development in Tripura’s political landscape.

Following year-long negotiations and six days after the signing of a tripartite agreement involving the Center, the Tripura government, and the TMP, the opposition party aligned with the BJP-led coalition government in Tripura.

TMP legislator Animesh Debbarma, and lawyer-turned-politician Brishaketu Debbarma were sworn in as ministers, ushering in a new era in Tripura’s political scene.

Prior to their ministerial oath, Animesh Debbarma resigned from his position as Opposition Leader in the state assembly. The tripartite agreement was signed on March 2 in New Delhi, with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha, and other officials present.
