Tripura Polls 2023: EVMs VVPAT machines arrive Agartala

With barely 4 months left for the Assembly polls in the state, Tripura is gearing up for the all-important 2023 elections. On Monday, 4800 electronic voting machines and 4900 voters verifiable paper audit trail or VVPAT machines arrived in Agartala. 

The EVMs and VVPAT machines were dispatched from ECIL Hyderabad to Agartala as per the order of the Election Commission.

The polling material allotted for Tripura reached Agartala at 4 pm on Monday in 15 containerized trucks from Hyderabad.

According to the official sources, the polling material has been temporarily kept in the West Tripura District godown.

The equipment will be kept in the godown of Umakanta School strong room in the presence of representatives of political parties on Monday. 

Reportedly, the EVM and VVPAT units will be distributed to other districts later.
