Tripura Panchayat Polls: Counting underway a day after voting Counting of votes for Tripura’s three-tier Panchayat elections is still underway amid heightened security. As per latest trends, the ruling BJP looks set for a clean sweep in the rural polls. The state election commission meanwhile has informed Northeast Live that the counting process should get over by this evening. As per latest inputs, in the Zila Parishad polls, BJP is ahead in all 41 seats. In Panchayat Samity polls, the BJP is ahead in 48 of the total 50 seats that went to polls, while the opposition CPI-M is ahead in 2. In the Gram Panchayat polls, the BJP is ahead in 169 of the total 202 seats for which counting has taken place so far.
