The Tripura Pradesh Congress organized a large rally in Agartala, today, demanding appropriate compensation for farmers, fishery owners and other working class people who lost their livelihood to landslides and floods. A rally was carried out from Congress Bhavan, with participants holding flags and banners. The protesters condemned both the state and central governments for their alleged failure to provide adequate assistance to flood victims. Later, a memorandum was submitted to the Sub Divisional Magistrate of Sadar on the Congress party’s demands. The protest was led by former Minister and Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman, who targeted the “double engine” BJP government, accusing both the state and central administrations of neglecting the people of Tripura.
