Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha has lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi for successfully implementing the Women’s Reservation Bill in Parliament.
Speaking on the matter, he expressed gratitude on behalf of the people of Tripura, especially the women, for this significant achievement.
The Women’s Reservation Bill, which had been under discussion for 27 years, was finally passed in Parliament yesterday.
Chief Minister Saha credited Prime Minister Modi for making this long-awaited milestone a reality. He highlighted the Prime Minister’s consistent advocacy for “Nari Shakti” (women’s empowerment) and noted that this bill reflects his commitment to this cause.
“It took 27 years when talks on this issue were going on, but who implemented it? This credit only goes to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, I would like to thank him on behalf of the people, especially the women of Tripura”, added CM Saha
Once the bill is passed by the Rajya Sabha and the President gives the ascent, the bill will become law. Both the Parliament and state assemblies will reserve 33% of seats for women.
Chief Minister Saha expressed hope that the bill would also receive approval in the Rajya Sabha, after which it will become a law.
