Tripura CM Manik Saha inspects IGM Hospital in Agartala, expresses satisfaction over services provided

Chief Minister Saha informed that the government has planned to set up AIIMS in the state, for which the talks are going on with the centre in Delhi
Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha paid a surprise visit to the Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital in the state capital Agartala on Thursday to inspect the services and treatment facilities.
Chief Minister Saha, along with the Health Secretary, Dr. Debasish Basu, the Health Director, and other senior officials of the department, visited various wards and the OPD, interacted with the doctors, nurses, and other medical staff, and expressed their satisfaction with the service being provided.
He said that the state government is developing the health infrastructure across the state, including the district, subdivision, PHC, and CHC, so that referrals can be reduced and by providing better health services at the doorstep of every person in the remote areas.
Speaking to Northeast Live, Chief Minister Saha informed that the government has planned to set up AIIMS in the state, for which the talks are going on with the centre in Delhi.
Chief Minister Saha added that if not AIIMS, then hospitals of the level of RIMS or NEIGRIHMS would be setup in the state in the future.
Saha, who is also the Health Minister of the state, added that like him, other Ministers in his cabinet are also visiting various offices under their respective departments and inspecting the functioning as it impacts the quality of services and also keeps the staff alert.
Earlier in the day, Chief Minister Saha attended a blood donation camp organised by the SFTMC and Karmachari Sangha.
