Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb took stock of the state’s law and order scenario in a meeting in Dharmanagar on Monday.
The meeting held at the north district headquarters saw Chief Minister Deb in attendance along with Tripura assembly deputy speaker Biswabandhu Sen, DG AK Shukla, Additional DG Shyam Chaturvedi, IG JV Sreejesh and other police officials.
Talks and discussions were held regarding the law and order scenario of the state especially in north district where police has lately been waging a war against drug peddling.
Talking to media, Chief Minister Deb stated that the government is doing all in its power to eradicate crime in the state, with their focus mainly on drug peddling and crimes against women.
Deb stated that crime can be tackled effectively if the police station in-charges do their work properly on the ground level.
