Tripura CM Biplab Deb meets Union ministers in Delhi

Tripura chief minister, Biplab Kumar Deb met with several union ministers at the national capital on Tuesday.

Deb called on the external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj, Union minister for road transport Nitin Gadkari, Union minister for electronics and IT Ravi Shankar Prasad and Union minister for railways, Piyush Goyal among several others. As per an official release,the Tripura CM sought the blessings of Swaraj and also discussed several matters related to international trade and border issues during the meet.

Furthermore, the external affairs minister also declared that a joint conference with all the chief ministers of the north eastern states would be held at New Delhi on the 4th of May. Various other decisions like converting the present 2 lane national highway from Agartala to Matarbari to a 4 lane modern highway, establishing 3 new BPOs in the state and starting direct trains from Agartala to Deogarh were also taken during the meet.

In addition to the state’s tourism and transport department, Tripura’s SWAN project and E-hospital projects are also likely to receive a major impetus in the days to come. Suresh Prabhu, the union minister for civil aviation and commerce and industries also assured to take all necessary actions required to change the current name of the Agartala Airport to Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishor Manikya Airport, added the official release.
