Tripura: Centre signs Peace Pact with NLFT and ATTF

Two factions of the National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) and the All Tripura Tiger Force (ATTF) will sign a tripartite agreement with the Centre and the Tripura Government in New Delhi today.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Tripura CM Manik Saha and Tipra Motha Founder Pradyot Debbarma will attend the signing of the peace accord.

According to sources, Tipra Motha founder and Royal scion Pradyot Debbarma has played a crucial role in bringing the NLFT and ATTF to the peace table. The political demands of the NLFT and ATTF will be addressed through the Tiprasa Accord, sources informed.

Taking to social media, Debbarma said, “Hard work and perseverance always pays off! An era of non violence and insurgency free tripura is on the horizon! I thank the Home Minister and the officials who patiently negotiated a honourable peace deal with the NLFT and ATTF.”

“There are many more who worked silently behind the scenes for the past one year and a half . I am glad that all of them have managed to convince the organisations that the path of guns will never bring constitutional solutions we have to engage and articulate our pain in a civil manner I also thank the Home minister and his entire team for also keeping faith in me during this process . Jai Hind long live Tiprasa Dopha”, he added.

It may be mentioned that the Ministry of Home Affairs has been working tirelessly to fulfil Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of developed Northeast, free from extremism, violence and conflict.

Under the leadership of Prime Minister, the government has signed 12 important agreements to bring peace and prosperity in the Northeast, of which 3 relate to the State of Tripura.

Due to signing of several agreements by Modi Government, around 10 thousand people have given up arms and joined mainstream.
