BJP tribal wing today discussed the roadmap and the strategy for the Lok Sabha Elections to be held next year. A crucial meeting of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) tribal wing, Janajati Morch, was held with the primary focus to strengthen its presence in the 20 tribal reserved constituencies.
Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha, BJP State President Rajib Bhattacharjee, Tribal Welfare Minister Bikash Debbarma, Industry Minister Santana Chakma, former Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma, and senior leaders of the tribal wing were present at the meeting.
The central agenda revolved around deploying party representatives to all 20 ST reserved constituencies. These representatives are tasked with engaging with the public at the grassroots level, gathering feedback to formulate micro-level organizational strategies aimed at enhancing performance in the upcoming general parliamentary election, as highlighted by Chief Minister Manik Saha.
Saha expressed confidence in the BJP’s preparations for the 2024 Lok Sabha election, asserting that, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership for a third term, the party is poised for victory at the centre. He anticipates a significant increase in the margin of victory in Tripura’s two parliamentary seats in favour of the BJP.
BJP State President Rajib Bhattacharjee pointed to the recent victories of the BJP in assembly elections in three states as indicators of the public’s confidence in PM Modi’s commitment to their welfare and national development. He emphasized the expectation of the country electing Modi as Prime Minister for the third consecutive term.
Bhattacharjee underlined the benefits of the double-engine government in Tripura and the meeting’s objective to secure victories in both Parliament seats, East Tripura and West Tripura, in the Lok Sabha elections 2024. This, he believes, will further strengthen Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s position.
While BJP leaders expressed confidence in winning both seats, they acknowledge the challenge posed by the Opposition TIPRA Motha party, particularly in the tribal reserved seats.
In the assembly elections held early this year, Opposition TIPRA Motha bagged 13 of the 20 ST seats, making it a key consideration in the BJP’s election strategy.
