As many as 7 Bangladeshi nationals and 4 Rohingya immigrants, who entered India by crossing the Indo-Bangladesh international border, were arrested in Tripura. Police also arrested 3 Indian citizens for assisting them.
Arrested Bangladeshi nationals have been identified as–Rahman Ali (30) Jannatara (19) Khaleda Begum (19) Majuma Begum (17) Karima Begum (28), and Abbas Howlader (35) and Al Hafiz (18).
The four Rohingyas have been identified as–Mohammad Alam Sa (20), Kumira Bibi (18), Farida Begum (18), Shafela Begum (18).
Based on inputs of suspected Bangladeshis and Rohingyas entering India through Tripura and travelling from Kailashahar to Karimganj to head to Delhi, Kadamtala police conducted a Naka checking at Kadamtala Jerjeri area along the Assam-Tripura border late last night.
During the Naka checking, police intercepted three vehicles and arrested them.
Police also arrested the drivers of the car who are Indian citizens.
The arrested drivers have been identified as-Abdul Fatta Khan,
Chabur khan and Chayad Ali.
According to police, they had come to Kailashahar in Unakoti district by car through a broker.
All the arrestees will be produced before court today, said police.
