Normal life came to a standstill in the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council areas following a 12-hour shutdown called by the Twipraland State Party (TSP) on Monday.
The shutdown started at 5 am in the morning and will culminate at 5 pm.
The shutdown has been called by the party to oppose the Citizenship Amendment Bill and is demanding upgradation of the TTAADC as a separate State.
Party president CR Deb Barman while speaking to Northeast Live said, the shutdown so far has been peaceful.
