Demanding justice for deceased Trinamool Congress leader Majibur Islam Majumder, the All India Trinamool Congress organized a silent candlelight march on Saturday evening from the AITC Tripura Camp office at Bhagwan Thakur Chowmuhani in Agartala.
Convenor of the AITC Tripura steering committee, Subal Bhowmik, along with other senior leaders, took part in the candle march, demanding the arrest and punishment of all those involved in the brutal attack.
Mujibur died due to injuries sustained in an attack on August 28 last year, and the TMC alleged that the attack was carried out by BJP supporters during an event at his residence in Badharghat, near Agartala city.
The 57-year-old TMC leader, who was being treated at a hospital in Kolkata for the last few weeks, died on January 5.
The Congress-turned TMC leader was the son of former Tripura agriculture minister Mansoor Ali and the brother of senior BJP leader Baharul Islam Majumder.
