In what can be termed as a shot in the arm for the TMC, the party’s Meghalaya wing formed the Resubelpara Block Mahila Trinamool Committee on Saturday, after more than 400 women joined the Meghalaya Trinamool Congress.

The joining ceremony was held in the the presence of MDC Rinaldo K Sangma, Pildash Marak, Bristine Marak and several other party leaders.

Notably, the Mahila Block Committee inducted several dynamic women leaders. The president of the women’s block committee, Saithina Shira gave a vote of thanks and welcomed new office bearers and members.

Along with Shira, TMC Meghalaya leader Rinaldo K Sangma,too expressed his gratitude to the attendees.

Speaking to the media, Sangma said that it was for the first in the history of Resubelpara that over 400 women joined a party for a much needed change. He shed light on the connectivity which he said was a big issue along with severe healthcare, and development issues.
