In a tragic road accident, five people who were on way to attend a wedding, lost their lives in West Sikkim.
In a tragic road accident, five people who were on way to attend a wedding, lost their lives near Lang Khola on the Tashiding-Yuksom road in West Sikkim on January 17.
As per inputs, the accident occurred when a 4-wheeler skidded off the road and fell into a gorge.
The victims, identified as Abhishek Dahal, Abhi Kishore Dahal, Chandra Bahadur Mangar, Karna Bahadur Gurung, and Jeewan Karki, were all residents of the Yuksom-Tashiding constituency.
Chief Minister PS Tamang expressed his grief over the tragic event. In a social media post, he wrote,
“Deeply saddened by the tragic accident near Lang Khola, Gerethang, in the Yuksom-Tashiding constituency, which claimed the lives of five individuals. I extend my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and pray to the Almighty for the departed souls to rest in eternal peace.”
Authorities have launched an investigation to ascertain the cause of the accident.
