Tragic: Assam Man and His Friend Crushed To Death In Road Accident While Travelling To Shillong

In a tragic incident, a 23-year old man and a 21-year old woman hailing from Moranhat, Assam, lost their lives in a road accident in Meghalaya on Sunday.

The duo was travelling on a motorcycle from Guwahati towards Shillong when they were crushed under the wheels of a truck on National Highway 6 in the Ri-Bhoi district of Meghalaya.

The victims have been identified as Nilutpal Dowari (23) and Gargee Chutia (21).

Reports indicate that Dowari, the motorcycle’s rider, attempted to overtake a truck while navigating a sharp curve. He is said to be driving at a high speed. He lost control, the motorcycle came under the truck’s rear tyre.

The bodies were shifted to the Civil Hospital Morgue in Nongpoh.
