Tragic: 60-year-old woman run over by train in Tripura

The lady is said to be mentally unstable. It is being said that because of her mental state, she unknowingly walked onto the rail track resulting in the fatal accident

In a tragic accident, a 60-year-old woman died after a local train ran over her, the police said. The incident happened at D.M Colony area under Teliamura in Khowai district of Tripura on Tuesday.

According to locals and the police, the deceased has been identified as Rasbala Sarkar, a resident of D.M Colony, who had been mentally unwell for some time. It is believed that due to her mental condition, she accidentally ventured onto the railway line, resulting in the tragic incident.

However, the exact cause of her death is yet to be determined. The deceased’s body was sent to Teliamura Hospital and after completion of the forensic investigation, the body will be handed over to the family, said police as an investigation into the death is on.
