Tragic: 4-year-old goes to attend puja, falls into a pond and dies

In a tragic incident in Tripura, a 4-year-old girl drowned in a pond near her house.

The deceased girl has been identified as Ananya Karmakar, a resident of Khilpara Taltala area of Udaipur.

The incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon in Udaipur when the minor girl went to a neighbour’s house with her grandmother to take part in a puja. While everyone was busy with puja rituals, the girl wandered off and fell into a nearby pond.

After the puja, her grandmother searched for her but was unable to locate her. Later, she found her body in the pond.

Locals retrieved the body from the pond and rushed her to a nearby hospital, where the doctors declared her dead.
