Tragic: 14-year-old boy dies after falling off a litchi tree

He was rushed to Bishramganj hospital for treatment, where an X-ray was conducted.

In a tragic incident, a 14-year-old died after falling from a litchi tree in Tripura’s Sepahijala district on Friday.

The boy identified as Dilip Debbarma, had climbed the tree to pluck some litchis.

Describing what happened, Dilip’s father Kiran Debbarma said that his son, along with other children, climbed a tree near his school to fetch ripe litchis. Dilip fell from the tree but managed to walk home on his own.

He was then taken to Bishramganj hospital for treatment, where an X-ray was conducted. Later, he was referred to GB Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Dilip was a Class nine student.

A police case has been registered, and after the post-mortem, the body was handed over to the family.
