“We will fight in the assembly elections, defeat them and Delhi have to notice after this.” It was a strong message clearly delivered by TIPRA Motha chief Pradyot Kishore Debbarma

“We will fight in the assembly elections, defeat them and Delhi have to notice after this.” It was a strong message clearly delivered by TIPRA Motha chief Pradyot Kishore Debbarma and that too from the national capital, ahead of the 2023 assembly elections in Tripura.

In an apparent show of strength, a sea of TIPRA Motha supporters gathered at the Jantar Mantar and staged demonstration in support of the Greater Tipraland demand. Briefing newspersons, Pradyot Kishore Debbarma took a jibe at the BJP government in Tripura for failing to bring a solution to the Greater Tipraland issue. The TIPRA Motha chief affirmed that the demand for Greater Tipraland has been clearly placed before the Centre. In this case, if the Government of India does not listen to our demand, the TIPRA Motha will go solo in the upcoming 2023 Tripura poll battle, Pradyot added.

Massive demonstration by TIPRA Motha in New Delhi demanding Greater Tipraland

Pradyot said, ” We feel that Tripura and Northeast has been ignored by New Delhi. It is said that if one votes for the national parties, than only our (NORTHEAST) voices can reach New Delhi. But in Tripura although BJP came to power, there has been no solution to the TIPRASA issue. Greater Tipraland was our demand which we had harped on and came to power (in TTADC). With the same demand we have come to Delhi.”

In fact Pradyot Kishore Debbarma went on to say that the TIPRA Motha cannot fool people on the pretext of seat sharing which is based on use of money power. The Tripura Royal scion maintained, “people have chosen us so that we can give them solution. If we accept money and go for seat sharing than it is nothing but betraying the people. Already the people have lost faith in the political leaders.”
