Timber smugglers attacked a joint team of forest and police officials at Doboka in Assam’s Nagaon district on Monday. A forest official and a cop were injured in the attack.

A forest official and a cop were injured in the attack. The perpetrators also vandalized the vehicles of the officials.
The incident took place after acting on specific inputs, forest and police officials arrived at Nowabil village to bust an illegal timber factory. The cops in a bid to disperse the unruly mob resorted to blank firing.
