Tight security ahead of final NRC draft: DGP

The Assam Police is taking all precautionary steps to ensure there is no threat to law and order in the state in the wake of the publication of the second and final draft of the NRC.
With the final draft of the NRC scheduled to be published on July 30th now, Assam DGP Kuladhar Saikia assured that the security arrangement is tight in the state and senior officials including Chief Secretary TY Das and the police are visiting various areas to review the respective internal security arrangements ahead of the publication of the final draft.
The DGP further assured that additional forces which are being called in are set to be sent to the vulnerable and sensitive areas. Urging the people not to panic, he assure that there will be no deterioration in the law and order scenario.
The Assam Police Chief moreover said that the security cover of State NRC Coordinator
Prateek Hajela will be thickened if needed be.
