Three Nigerians including a woman were arrested by the Assam police in Karimganj on Sunday night.

They were reportedly carrying foreign currencies and fake documents with them, while travelling from Bangladesh to Assam via Tripura.

Addressing themselves as footballers when questioned by the police, it was learnt that these Nigerians have been seen in and around Tripura in the last few months.

It is being suspected that they are secretly connected with big drug rackets in the state. However, they are now in police custody and investigation is underway.
