Three Myanmarese injured in firing in Tamu, brought to Imphal for treatment

At least five Myanmar civilians were critically injured in a fresh military crackdown, out of which 3 were reportedly brought to Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS) in Imphal for treatments.

The latest Myanmar Military crackdown is reported from Tamu, a Myanmar township, 5 kilometres away from Manipur’s border town Moreh.

Sources from Tamu informed Northeast Live that the incident occurred at midnight. Tamu police opened fire during a midnight raid critically injuring 5 civilians, out of which one succumbed at the spot, and three were brought to Moreh and received by Civil society bodies. After providing first aid at the Sub- Divisional Hospital Moreh, the three civilians were referred to the JNIMS Hospital in Imphal.

Later on 8 Myanmar Nationals who were seeking refuge in Moreh were pushed back by the Moreh Police at the border near Govajang Village.

Meanwhile, CSOs at Moreh will be conducting a join meeting today at the Office of Hill Tribal Council Moreh for providing assistance to those injured person who came to the Indian side for Help.
