Three Assamese Truck Drivers Kidnapped for Ransom Rescued in Churachandpur

Acting on intelligence inputs, the district police located and rescued the three hostages from Tuibong, Churachandpur.

Three truck drivers from Assam who were kidnapped by unidentified masked men for ransom at Songpi village, Manipur on January 31 around 10 PM have successfully rescued by Churachandpur police. The victims were transporting cement to Churachandpur.

The rescued individuals have been identified as Suhel Alam Talukdar (26), son of Bilaluddin Talukdar from Dholai, Hailakandi, Assam; Manjurul Alom Barbhuiya (27), son of Hamit Ahamed Barbhuiya from Dholai, Hailakandi, Assam; and Jamir Uddin (37), son of Ekram Ali from Dalgram, Karimganj, Assam.

Superintendent of Police Churachandpur, Prakhar Pandey, informed that a suo motu case was registered, following which an intensive search operation was launched. Acting on intelligence inputs, the district police located and rescued the three hostages from Tuibong, Churachandpur, on February 1 at around 1:50 PM.
