Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma yesterday announced that state government employees would be getting half-day leaves if they wish to watch “The Kashmir Files”, which is based on the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits from the Valley in the 1990s.

To apply for the leaves, the employees will have to submit a copy of the movie ticket to their department management.

“Glad to announce that our Govt employees will be entitled for half-day special leave to watch #TheKashmirFiles. They will have to only inform their superior officers and submit the tickets the next day,” the Chief Minister tweeted after watching the movie yesterday.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma watched the movie last night along with other BJP leaders at PVR cinemas in Guwahati.
