Terror activities on rise in Assam: CM Himanta Biswa Sarma

Assam is witnessing a rise in terror activities. This has been stated by Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma who said that Jihadi terror forces are active in Assam.

Yesterday, the Assam Police arrested 5 persons from Barpeta’s Howly and Kalgachia for their links with an outfit based out of Bangladesh having affiliation to Al Qaeda in the Indian subcontinent.

Commenting on the case, CM Sarma said that police will carry on its operations against such terror forces and hoped that more breakthroughs will be achieved soon.

The five persons arrested yesterday were identified as Mohammad Suman alias Saiful Islam, Khairul Islam, Badshah Suleman, Naushad Ali, and Taimur Rahman. Of this, Mohammad Suman alias Saiful Islam is learnt to be a resident of Bangladesh.
