Chaotic scenes and heated arguments were witnessed at the Jonai police station in Assam’s Dhemaji district.

Hundreds of people were seen gheraoing the police station and shouting slogans after a youth allegedly died in custody within the police station premises on Saturday.

Protesters were seen shouting slogans demanding for an explanation. An altercation too happened between some police personnel and the protesters.

This was followed by a lathi charge on the protesters by police personnel to disperse them off.
