Tension gripped Naharkatia town of Assam’s Dibrugarh district after an irate mob gheraoed the Naharkatia Police Station and pelted stones towards it.

The situation in the Eastern Assam Town got tense following a road accident where a local youth got killed.

The mob demanded immediate arrest of the driver of the vehicle that killed the youth.

The situation in the Police Station got so volatile that the police had to resort to lathi charge to bring the situation under control.

Meanwhile, the situation in Naharkatia still remains to be tense.
