Tense situation prevails in Assam’s JNV school after seniors beat junior

A case of abuse and violence has been reported from Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya in Assam’s Darrang where a student was left grievously injured after his seniors attacked him on Wednesday.
The injured student is identified as Simanta Narayan Konwar of class 9 who was attacked by class 12 seniors.
Following the attack, the student sustained severe injuries and was immediately rushed to the hospital. Reportedly, he is in ICU and the condition of the student is said to be critical.
According to sources, class 12 students attacked Simanta Narayan Konwar when he was having lunch at his hostel.
The reason behind the attack is yet to be known.
The principal of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya lodged an FIR. Immediately police started investigating the matter and six students have been rounded up for interrogation.
