In a sensational development, the story of a tea seller from Assam’s Bajali making it into AIIMS by cracking the NEET exam, which had grabbed all the headlines, has now turned out to be bogus.
After news broke out of a boy named Rahul hailing from Patacharkuchi in lower Assam’s Bajali district successfully cracking the NEET, it has now come to light that his admit card was in fact photoshopped and there is a stark mismatch between the roll number and date of birth on his admit card.
In fact, the roll number appears to be that of a girl named Kiranjeet Kaur from Haryana, who secured an All India Rank of 11,656.

The entire incident came to light when locals of Patacharkuchi tried to reach out to Rahul in order to congratulate him on his achievement.
However, when they were unable to contact him, they decided to check his mark sheet.
It was then that they realized, much to their shock, that Rahul’s roll number was in fact photoshopped, and looking it up on the NEET official website turned up the name of a girl, Kiranjeet Kaur from Haryana.
It may be mentioned here that earlier when the results were declared, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma had gone on record to say that the state government would bear his educational expenses.
The local residents of Patacharkuchi have condemned the incident and demanded a thorough probe into the entire fiasco.
