TATA Trusts to groom Mizoram’s young footballers in its 60 academies

Young footballers in Mizoram will be able to benefit from as many as 60 football academies across 60 villages in 11 districts of the state. State Sports Minister Robert Romawia Royte has announced that Football academies under TATA Trusts would be introduced in as many as 60 villages in 11 districts of Mizoram.

The state Sports Minister met with TATA Trusts CEO, Srinath Narasimhan in Mumbai on Saturday during which it was finalized that football academy under Tata Trusts will be implemented at selected schools from April 2022 in accordance with the MoU signed between the TATA Trusts and Government of Mizoram. Moreover a football Coach has also been recruited for the project. A programme for reviving badminton training under TATA Trusts was also discussed during the meeting.

Romawia Royte also called on central leaders in New Delhi before pushed off to Mumbai and participated in the celebration of Chapchar Kut by Mumbai Mizo Welfare Association
