Strict checking and COVID testing of passengers and drivers is being conducted on people entering Assam from West Bengal. Covid testing is being done on a tight basis at the Srirampur inter-state border check-gate.
People coming in buses, drivers of goods lorries and commercial vehicles are being made to undergo Covid testing before being allowed to enter Assam. Local authorities have made it mandatory for COVID testing of people entering into Assam from the West Bengal side.

While testing for people who are vaccinated with both doses is necessary, authorities have decided to enforce mandatory COVID testing after COVID cases have raised significantly in Assam. The state reported a total of 6,897 fresh Covid cases in the last 24 hours.
Meanwhile, Authorities have also ramped up Covid testing in different parts of the state. Strict testing is being conducted in bus terminals and railway stations for all passengers incoming in different parts of the state.
Earlier, in Gohpur, authorities are conducting testing at the railways station for all passengers who are coming from other parts.
