The BJP’s campaigning for the 2021 assembly polls is all set to get another mega boost with Prime Minister Narendra Modi slated to visit the state once again on February

The BJP’s campaigning for the 2021 assembly polls is all set to get another mega boost with Prime Minister Narendra Modi slated to visit the state once again on February 7.

NEDA convenor and Assam Health and Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, who is already on ground taking stock of the preparedness for the Prime Minister’s crucial visit, is leaving no stone unturned in ensuring that the Prime Minister’s Vijay Sankalp Samaroh in Dekhiajuli gets a massive response.

Significantly, this will be PM Modi’s second visit to the state in a span of 15 days.

Top BJP strategist Sarma attended a party meeting at Biswanath Chariali on Tuesday to mobilise party workers ahead of the February 7th rally.

The meeting was attended by Biswanath MLA Pramod Borthakur, Sotia MLA Padma Hazarika and Bihali MLA Ranjit Dutta among others. Speaking to the media, Sarma said that PM Modi will be laying the base for the Biswanath Medical College during his visit.

Sarma, who was at his witty best, also hit back at Assam Congress Chief Ripun Bora after the latter recently commented that there would be a tsunami of the Congress-AIUDF grand alliance in the ensuing state elections. Taking a jibe at Bora, Sarma said that there was no question of a tsunami in Assam as there is no sea nearby. Further, he said that the Congress leader lacks the knowledge of what exactly is a tsunami.

With the BJP aiming mission 100 plus in Assam, Prime Minister’s Modi’s Dekhiajuli rally is rendered that much more crucial owing to the fact that the latter’s last visit to the state where he launched the state government’s land patta distribution programme at the historic Jerenga Pathar in eastern Assam’s Sivasagar district was an official one.

In all certainty, this will be PM Modi’s turn to sound the poll bugle in the election–bound state.
