SRFTI team inspects site for the proposed Film & Television Institute in Tripura

To set up Tripura’s first film and television institute at capital Agartala a three-member delegation from the Satyajit Roy Film and Television Institute, Kolkata led by its Director in-charge Samiran

To set up Tripura’s first film and television institute at capital Agartala a three-member delegation from the Satyajit Roy Film and Television Institute, Kolkata led by its Director in-charge Samiran Datta arrived in Agartala this morning.

The team along with Tripura’s Information and Cultural Affairs Minister Sushanta Chowdhury visited the Nazrul Kalasethra area and inspected the available infrastructure where the proposed institute is likely to be set up.

Later Chowdhury informed that the proposal has already been cleared by the state finance department that has released required funds for setting up the institute here and which will be a branch of the SRFTI.

With the setting up of the institute, the aspiring filmmakers of the state are supposed to get exposure to the craft in Tripura itself.
