Spiritual discourse by Dalai Lama, over 50,000 gather at Paljor Stadium in Gangtok

His Holiness, the 14th Dalai Lama is slated to give a discourse on Gyalsey Thokme Sangpo’s 37 practices of a Bodhisattva at the Paljor Stadium.
All roads lead to the Paljor Stadium in Sikkim where Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama is all set to deliver a sermon session today morning.
Thousands of people from different parts of Sikkim and even outside the state started gathering at the Paljor Stadium right since the wee hours today to attend the spiritual session.
As per inputs, people started gathering at the venue of the sermon from as early as 3 am and over 50,000 were already at the venue by 7 am.
His Holiness, the 14th Dalai Lama is slated to give a sermon on Gyalsey Thokme Sangpo’s 37 practices of a Bodhisattva at the Paljor Stadium.
Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang is also attending the session and reached the Paljor stadium at around 7.30 am. Sikkim Governor Lakshman Acharya is also at the Paljor stadium.
His Holiness the Dalai Lama will also be virtually laying the foundation stones of the Karmapa Park project at Rumtek and the Gyalwa Lhatsun Chenpo Statue project at Simmik Khamdong constituency.
Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama reached Gangtok on Monday for a four-day visit. He was received by the Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Golay, other dignitaries and devotees at Libing Helipad.
The Spiritual Leader was extended a warm reception upon his touch down at the Libing Army Helipad in Gangtok by CM PS Tamang, Tibetan representatives, besides other senior leaders.
Following his reception at the helipad, monks from various monasteries of the state-orchestrated a traditional Buddhist ritual of dance and prayer known as ‘Sherbang’, amidst an atmosphere charged with spiritual energy.
The Tibetan spiritual leader is scheduled to give teachings from December 12 to 14 in Sikkim. This visit has heightened diplomatic discussions regarding the ongoing border tension between India and China.
He will leave for teachings in West Bengal’s Salugara on December 14. He will give a general teaching followed by the Ceremony for the Generation of Bodhicitta (semkye) at Sed-Gyued Monastery.
