Following the arrest of three persons by the SIT of Arunachal Pradesh police in connection with the infamous Tezu lynching case that happened in February this year.
Two companies of CRPF have been rushed to Tezu, the district headquarter town of Lohit district in Arunachal Pradesh on a request made by the local administration to ensure no breach of security and break down of law and order situation.
The trio – Behenso Pul, former General Secretary of All Mishimi Students Union, Legum Takaliang, President of AMSU) and Chowkhiya Tayang, General Secretary of AMSU, were arrested by the SIT from Shillong on August 5.
The arrests, agitated students organisations like the AMSU, All Lohit District Students Union and the All Anjaw District Students Union and together called for a 12 hour long Lohit and Anjaw districts bandh on August 9.
The gruesome incident took place on February 19 at the traffic junction of Tezu town during which an angry mob numbering into hundreds vandalised the Tezu police station and broke open the lock up and dragged out the two persons.
The arrested were the prime accused for the rape and murder of a 5 year old minor girl of Namgo village in Wakro. The angry mob lynched them and left their naked bodies at the junction.
