Sikkim: Man attacks 5 people including wife and 5-year-old kid with axe

A very disturbing incident came to light on Monday when a 41-year-old man allegedly attacked at least five people including a 5-year-old child with an axe in Sikkim’s Soreng district on Monday.

The incident took place on Monday at around 9 AM at Jushingthang area of Mangalbaria, local panchayat authorities said.

The man has been identified as Phurba Bhutia.

Phurba Bhutia allegedly attacked five individuals, including his wife, Phurba Lhamu Bhutia, daughter Yangchen Doma Bhutia, a 16-year-old named Namit Lepcha, Passang Choden Lepcha, and a defenceless 5-year-old child.

This ruthless attack inflicted grievous injuries upon the victims.
The reason behind the attack is still not known.
