The Sikkim government has decided to form a committee to study all aspects of the issue of Old Pension Scheme versus the New National Pension Scheme with the Committee set

The Sikkim government has decided to form a committee to study all aspects of the issue of Old Pension Scheme versus the New National Pension Scheme with the Committee set to hand over its report within three months time.
A meeting was convened yesterday by Chief Minister PS Tamang wherein after extensive discussions, the Chief Minister issued directions to constitute a committee to examine all the aspects of the issue to find a lasting solution.
The committee will be headed by the Secretary (DoP) Rinzing Chewang, Controller of Accounts cum Secretary Finance Department MCP Pradhan as a Member, and Additional Director (Pension Division of the Finance Department) Punita Alley as Member Secretary.
While the old pension scheme is a pension-oriented scheme, the the New National Pension Scheme on the other hand is an investment cum pension scheme where a part of the money is invested in the market to generate more income.
