Sikkim: DC Pakyong, Tashi Chopel inspects damages caused by rains at Thek village, coordinate relief efforts

The relentless downpour in the region has triggered erosion along the river bank.
Life has come to a grinding halt and properties worth crores of rupees have been damaged in incessant rainfall that has lashed out in several parts of Sikkim.
Properties worth lakhs of rupees have been destroyed and public life has been endangered due to incessant rain in Parakha block in Thek village in Pakyong sub-division.
The relentless downpour in the region has triggered erosion along the river bank.
Several houses have developed cracks and they have been declared unfit for residing.
In response to the widespread devastation, a comprehensive joint inspection was carried out under the directive of DC Pakyong to assess the extent of the damage and coordinate relief efforts.
