Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh Assembly Election 2024 results today, counting of votes underway

The counting of votes for 32 Assembly constituencies in Sikkim is underway in 6 centres in the state.

The counting of votes for the Assembly elections in Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh began at 6 am today.

Counting of votes for 50 Assembly seats out of a total of 60 is underway in 48 centres in Arunachal Pradesh. The ruling BJP has already won 10 seats in the 60-member Assembly unopposed.

The counting of votes for 32 Assembly constituencies in Sikkim is underway in 6 centres in the state.

According to early trends, the ruling BJP is ahead in 10 of 50 seats in Arunachal Pradesh.

In Sikkim, the ruling Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) are in a cut-throat competition with the Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF).

SKM is ahead in 3 seats, while the opposition SDF is leading in one seat.

Polling for the 60 Assembly seats in Arunachal Pradesh was also held on April 19, simultaneously with the first phase of Lok Sabha elections.

BJP has won 10 of the 60 seats in the state uncontested. Chief Minister Pema Khandu and Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein are among the winners.

According to the Axis My India exit poll, the BJP will win 44-51 seats in Arunachal Pradesh, the NPP will win 2-6, the Congress may win 1-4 and others may win 2-6 seats.

In the 2019 Assembly elections, the BJP won 41 seats in Arunachal Pradesh. The Janata Dal (United) bagged 7, the National People’s Party (NPP) 5, Congress 4, and the Peoples Party of Arunachal (PPA) one. Two independents also won in the Assembly polls. All except one Congress MLA, former Chief Minister Nabam Tuki, joined the BJP.

Polling for 32 assembly seats in Sikkim was held simultaneously on April 19, in the first phase of the just concluded Lok Sabha elections.

The exit polls predict that the SKM will come back to power in the state.

In the 2019 Assembly elections, the SKM won 17 seats, while the SDF secured 15 seats.

According to the Axis My India exit poll, BJP may get 0-2 seats in Sikkim, the SKM may win 24-30, SDF may win 1-3 seats, the Citizen Action Party (CAP) may win 0-2 while others may get 0-1 seat.
