Sikkim : 150 runners embark on “Run for Truth and Reconciliation” to show solidarity with Dalai Lama

In a remarkable display of unity and support, 150 runners from Darjeeling and Sikkim gathered to participate in the “Run for Truth and Reconciliation.”

The run, spanning a distance of 35 kilometers from Darjeeling to Kurseong, aimed to demonstrate solidarity with His Holiness the Dalai Lama and promote his values of unity, peace, and forgiveness.

Among the enthusiastic runners were notable figures such as Amar Subba, a marathon enthusiast from Sikkim; Vikram Rai, founder of the Vikrun Foundation; Premius Bhutia, a veteran marathoner; and Amar Lama, the principal advisor of the GTA (Gorkhaland Territorial Administration).

Their participation exemplified the wide range of individuals coming together for this noble cause.

Organized by Tenzin’s Gym, in collaboration with the Vikrun Foundation, Blue Dragon Adventure, and Teedi, and supported by fitness enthusiasts, as well as the local and Tibetan communities of Darjeeling, Ghoom, Sonada, and Kurseong, the event garnered significant attention and participation.

The “Run for Truth and Reconciliation” not only celebrated the essence of Tibetan culture but also symbolized a transformative journey toward truth and reconciliation. The runners, through their remarkable feat, aimed to spread the message of love and understanding, inspired by the teachings of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.

As the runners traversed the 35 kilometers, they not only spread awareness about the event but also sowed the seeds of compassion, fostering a vision for a better and more compassionate world.
