In an initiative to provide employment to the youth in Sikkim, Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang today handed over temporary job appointment orders to at least 11,000 unemployed youth of the state during the ‘Yuva Bharosa Sammelan’ held at Rangpo ground.
CM Tamang has also given appointment letters to almost 25,000 government employees who have worked for four years or more in order to regularize their positions.
CM Tamang said, “Despite best efforts and working overtime, the concerned government departments could not bring around 5,000 temporary government appointment orders today. Those who were left out today will receive their orders during ‘Yuva Bharosa Sammelan-2 on March 7 to be held at this Rangpo ground or other suitable venue.”
The Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) led Sikkim government has stepped up its polls preparations ahead of the upcoming Legislative Assemble Elections.
The government will distribute 25,000 regular orders to temporary employees who have completed 4 years of service.
Earlier, CM Tamang has announced that Rs 48 lakh will be spent on the construction of homestays, which will create employment opportunities and boost tourism in the state.
