Normal life remains paralyzed for the second day in many parts of Manipur including capital city Imphal, after the Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity extended its cease work protest by a day.
It may be mentioned that the COCOMI, which is a conglomerate of 5 Civil Society Organisations, have taken up a series of agitations in the wake of the growing apprehensions in the state over the outcome of the Naga peace deal.
Earlier, on Thursday UCM general secretary Khuraijam Athouba, informed that the COCOMI would extend its protest after the last leg of Naga peace talks reportedly concluded on a very positive note.
It may be mentioned that various groups and organisations are apprehensive of the fact that the final deal may harm the territorial integrity and interests of Manipur.
With protests continuing to rock Manipur, hundreds of protestors took to the streets at Thoubal late Thursday evening, as fears have escalated over the possible outcome of the peace deal.
