Shocking: Mother of Two Child Raped, Burnt With Acid in Assam’s Cachar

The accused, identified as Badrul Islam alias Putul, allegedly entered the house, tied the woman’s hands and feet, and raped her in front of her two children.

Assam’s Cachar district has been shaken by a brutal crime in the Bhaga Rajghat area, where a mother of two was raped and subjected to an acid attack on 22nd January. The victim’s husband reported that the incident occurred while he was away from home.

The accused, identified as Badrul Islam alias Putul, allegedly entered the house, tied the woman’s hands and feet, and raped her in front of her two children.

His cruelty did not stop there, the culprit then poured an acid-like substance on her, causing severe burns. The victim is currently in critical condition and undergoing treatment at Silchar Medical College and Hospital.

Upon returning home, the husband learned about the attack from their six-year-old son, who had witnessed the ordeal.

Based on the child’s testimony, a case was registered against Badrul Islam at Dholai Police Station on 23rd January. However, the accused remains at large, and police have launched a search operation.

This horrifying crime has sparked widespread outrage and renewed concerns over women’s safety in the region. Authorities have assured a thorough investigation, but the community demands swift justice for the victim and her family.
