Meghalaya NCP Chief Saleng Sangma today said that sitting across the table is the only solution to peace.
Saleng Sangma who is also the Chairman of Meghalaya Tourism Development Corporation or MTDC while talking to the media condemned yesterday’s blast in the Police Bazar area of Shillong.
The NCP Chief further terming the incident as an act of cowardice, said that it is important in a democracy for people to sit across the table and have discussions which is the only solution.
Hynniewtrep National Liberation Council or HNLC claimed responsibility for the blasts in Shillong. It may be mentioned that the blast occurred outside Delhi Mistan Bhandar in Shillong’s commercial hub Police Bazar yesterday evening. However, no one was injured during the IED explosion. Meghalaya Police has already detained two individuals and recovered a live IED.
The blasts at the heart of Shillong sent shockwaves through the city causing panic among its residents.
