Security Forces Recovers Big Cache Of Arms, Ammunition, War-like Stores In Manipur

Security forces recovered a large cache of weapons, ammunition and war-like stores during a search operation in Manipur on Sunday, amid Republic Day Celebrations.
The joint operation was conducted by the Manipur Police and Assam Rifles.
“Assam Rifles and Manipur Police, in a joint operation, successfully recovered weapons and other war-like stores from General Area Nepali Basti, Veitum Khullen – Khoken village Road, 3.5 kms North of COB Kotlen, on 26 Jan 2025”, official said.
“The recovered items include one 5.56 mm Heckler and Koch G3 rifle with magazine, one .303 sniper rifle (modified), one .22 pistol with magazine, one single barrel rifle, two improvised mortars, five .303 live rounds, two chinese hand grenades and one Motorola (Baofeng), which were handed over to the police for further investigation,” the official stated.
Over the past few months, Assam Rifles and Manipur Police have been actively engaged in intelligence-based operations, focused on identifying and neutralizing illegal weapon smuggling networks. Through diligent surveillance and coordinated efforts, the force has been able to disrupt these networks and confiscate a significant cache of weapons.
Assam Rifles and Manipur Police urged the local community to play an active role in supporting their efforts by providing any information related to illegal weapons or suspicious activities. This collaborative approach will further strengthen the fight against crime and ensure the continued prosperity of the region.
