A major brawl occurred on Tuesday night in front of Cotton University in Guwahati between students of the university and local food vendors.

As per reports, the scuffle began after a student allegedly went to buy a bottle of water from a fast-food truck named ‘Delhi 6 BBQ’ late last night.

Following a heated exchange of words, a group of 50 students brutally attacked the owner and other staff of the food truck and vandalized shop property.

The owner of the shop, Sameer Ahmed who is a resident of Uzanbazar in Guwahati was seriously injured in the incident. He was later rushed to the MMC hospital in Panbazar.

Following the incident, police arrived at the spot and arrest one student. However, the others managed to flee.

Meanwhile, Panbazar police have registered a case against a group of students from Cotton University and further investigation into the incident is on.
