The rising water level of the Siang river has resulted in the road which is the lifeline for the people of Borguli, Seram, Kongkul, Namsing, Gadum, and Mer villages in East Siang district and Banggo, Paglam, and Anpum villages in Lower Dibang Valley district getting washed away on Friday, adding to the misery of the people.
However, an alternative road and bridge have been built on the Tatsing River to bypass the cut-off region. The people of Borguli and Seram village in the immediate downstream area have now appealed to the Government of India to sanction the required funds to construct all-weather roads and embankments in villages along the banks of the Siang River.
