Nagaland chief minister, Neiphiu Rio, accompanied by deputy chief minister, Y Patton, cabinet ministers and state BJP and NDPP leaders arrived in New Delhi to meet several central leaders and ministers. The delegation also met the Vice President of India, M. Venkaiah Naidu.
As per reports, the delegation involved in discussions regarding the construction of Ciethu Airport near Kohima, continuation of the Special Assistant Fund (SPF) introduced during UPA government and obtaining the special package for ENPO announced by the prime minister during his election campaign in Tuensang.
During the visit, the delegation held consultations with constitutional experts and legal luminaries over the issue of appointment of elected members as advisors. Later, Rio also met state advocate general Ram Gopal over the issue of appointment of advisors.
